This year, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style, playing a concert at New York's prestigious arts and music venue, Lincoln Center! Our concert in the Center's David Rubenstein Atrium was packed to full capacity from start to finish. It felt so great to play a hometown show in such a marvelous space. The staff were awesome, the audience were awesome, and for us it was one of our most enjoyable shows to date. Thanks so much to everyone who made it possible, and to our fantastic audience who gave us a night to remember!
Here's a clip from our concert in Milwaukee last weekend. It's a set we recorded on our first album, comprised of two reels: The Gooseberry Bush, and the Nine-Pint Coggie. Thanks to Jeff Ksiazek for posting, and thanks to all at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Center for a great night!
Hey! You guys feel like tearin' it up on New Year's Eve? Awesome! Come join us then at the Ashokan Center in Olivebridge, NY, for a great dinner and dance party! We'll be performing for dancers alongside great musicians like Jay Ungar and Molly Mason with Swingology, John Krumm, and Jesse Lége and Bayou Brew, for an unforgettable night. They offer a killer dinner and lodging for the night as well, so come and party it up into the wee hours with us! Tickets can be purchased here: http://ashokan.org/new-years-eve-dance-party/
We just had a great few gigs in Wisconsin, playing for packed houses in Madison and Milwaukee. We taught workshops in Milwaukee for the Milwaukee Irish Fest School of Music, and then performed a sold-out concert at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Center on Saturday night. It was a great weekend and we want to thank everyone at the Center for inviting us to come play and teach at their awesome venue. Hope to do it again soon!
Woohoo! We're all geared up to head down to the Dallas, TX, area to teach and perform at the O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat. We've heard wonders about the retreat as being a fantastic weekend of workshops and concerts featuring the best teachers and performers from Ireland, the US, and beyond, and we're delighted to be on this year's roster along with other great friends of ours like Dan Lowery, Caitlin Nic Gabhainn, Sean Gavin, and many others. Check out their website and if you are interested in learning more about Irish music, this is a great place to do it!
We are very much looking forward to an upcoming concert and workshop session in collaboration with the Milwaukee Irish Fest Center and School of Music on November 7, 2015! Workshops will be from 2:00 - 3:30 pm, and concert at 8:00 pm. Can't wait! Follow links below to learn more:
We were very honored to have participated in the Corofin Traditional Festival this March! It was a real pleasure to come and play in concert in Ireland. Here is a clip from our appearance in the Friday night concert at the Teach Ceoil.
We are thrilled to announce that we have begun to work with the fabulous Ruby Hoy, who will be acting as our booking agent in North America. Ruby has worked for many years with legendary acts such as Andy Irvine, Kevin Burke, Celtic Fiddle Festival, and many others, and we are very happy to join her roster! You can check her out in all her awesomeness at rubyhoy.com
Our album pre-release concert for Haymaker was a truly great night! SubCulture is a really great venue with excellent, professional staff, great sound, awesome lighting, and just a cool vibe all around. We were able to deliver CDs in hand to our NYC Kickstarter supporters, sell a bunch more, and had great fun on stage playing this music which we love, and were joined by drummer Josh Dukes and singer/mandolinist Jefferson Hamer, who both appear on the album as well.
The official public release date of the album is only two days away, so stay tuned to order your copy! We hope you all enjoy this record, because we are proud of it!
